So you may be sat there, at home, potentially sipping a glass of red wine, winding down from a hard day at work, maybe even thinking about an early night. Maybe you’re sat all alone at home, and you’ve just been throwing yourself around your bedroom like an empty tracksuit. However you’ve chosen to spend your evening you’ll possibly be as surprised as each other to find that Mojo20 have decided to write about a dance track! 2014 for some reason has had an effect on my musical taste and I’ve found myself opening up a little bit to house music. Just like everything else, if it has enough substance to grab hold of, then why not accept it and enjoy it. That appears to have been the case with this recent remix from Robin Schulz, of the 2010 track ‘Prayer in C’ by French-Israeli alt pop duo Lilly Woods & The Prick. I’ll be the first to throw my hand up and say, I’ve never heard of them or the song, but it stole my attention on the very first listen. With a gorgeously reworked riff that just has summer time written all over it, layered over sexy, smoky vocals and thought-provoking lyrics, this anti-religious/moan at God is as clever as it is catchy.
I expect, it’ll be a floor filler in clubs all over the UK for the remainder of the summer, and if that turns out to not be the case, I guess my point of not going into these overpriced chain nightclubs has been proven perfectly. It’s certainly one of those tracks that when played around the house, the urge to get dressed and go out on the piss, is pretty much irresistible. What’s worse is that the music video has the same effect. Littered with cool shots of parties, young people, skateboarding and the like, it makes you wonder why you’re still sat at home, watching YouTube videos of your favourite wrestler that you’ve seen a million times before anyway. So check it out. If you’re a dance fan, you’ll love it. If you aren’t; like me, then you’ll surprise yourself. It’s a win-win situation. Enjoy, and make the most of the rest of your Summer.
