Kasabian are no strangers to gracing the soundtrack on multiple EA Sports FIFA games and this year is no different. FIFA17 is due for release on Thursday 29th September and Kasabian track, Comeback Kid will be on the game. If reports are to be believed, this track won’t feature on the band’s next album and has solely been produced for the game. Money talks after all.
There’s the classic Kasabian twang throughout the track with guitar riffs building up to a catchy chorus and percussion support throughout. Other than previews of new songs at gigs, this is the first official new Kasabian song since the 48:13 album release in 2014. It’s a welcome return without being a “comeback” of sorts. But, new Kasabian is new Kasabian.
Songs performed at the massive stadium gigs and believed to be for the album include ‘Good Fight’, ‘24/7’, ‘You’re In Love With A Psycho’ and ‘All Through The Night’. The new album isn’t due to be released until next year though so this new material will have to suffice for now.
Speaking of the album, Serge Pizzorno told Q :
“It’s going back to our guitar roots”
Lead singer, Tom Meighan added:
“Serge played me the demos and I was ‘Fucking hell!’ It’s nothing like ’48:13’. There’s no fucking interludes or any of that shit.”
Also featuring on the FIFA17 soundtrack are: Beck, Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club, Barns Courtney, Declan McKenna and Glass Animals amongst many more.
