LET’S DANCE – BRAND NEW MONTHLY 80s Night
We have been looking forward to sharing this event with you for some time now and are thrilled to announce the launch of LET’S DANCE. Saturday 14th January at RED FIVE is set to be a memorable night, we’ve gathered some of the best local DJs to go back to back for the night and dig deep to unearth some forgotten dance floor gems and rarities, mixing it all together with the finest anthems of the time. This will be a multi genre night that will switch the tempos and follow grooves, picking the finest cuts, so expect lots of original 12″ extended and dub versions mixed in with all out 80’s fun. Don’t worry, we’re not taking this too seriously, we want lots of fun but just don’t expect your usual 80s night. Guitar music will clash with synthesisers, drummers against drum machines. We have so many surprises lined up.
The 80’s had some of the biggest movements in music here in the UK. A new generation of independent record labels did everything differently and had the major labels following suit by the end of the decade. Across the globe MTV introduced music videos to mainstream America and everything changed. We’re going to capture as much of this as possible every month.

❏ PLUS – We’re going to break our 80s MUSIC ONLY RULE on our first night !!!
All the different possibilities of name choices for this night, the idea was simple – pick a great song title from the 80s and name the night after that. That’s easier said than done, there were so many choices and so many changes, we even thought we had it at one point. But then once this one was realised, it was set. It’s so simple and encapsulates everything there is to say. The track is of course Let’s Dance by David Bowie.
So, we’d like to have a bit of a David boogie with you all. As homage to the incredible David Bowie we’re going to dedicate the final part of the evening to a special mix of his finest moments from across his colossal catalogue of music. So this will include some music from 60s & 70s and a bit of more modern too. Sorry, but we know you won’t mind!
So make sure you join us for a dance on SATURDAY 14TH JANUARY at Lincoln’s best late night bar RED FIVE.
