HIM ANNOUNCE SPLIT & FAREWELL TOUR

It was announced earlier tonight that Love Metal legends and one of Finland’s greatest exports, HIM, are set to break up and cap off a 26 year career in the music business. Led by frontman Ville Valo, the band have released eight studio albums, a live album, two greatest hits and a number of other compilations and remix albums. They’ve toured the world multiple times and found infamy in the early 2000’s when they were heavily featured in videos and movies due to their connection with Bam Margera of Jackass and CKY.

Less than an hour ago Ville Valo released the following statement and the announcement of their split has been added to all their social media. “After quarter of a century of Love and Metal intertwined we sincerely feel HIM has run its unnatural course and adieus must be said in order to make way for sights, scents and sounds yet unexplored. We completed the pattern, solved the puzzle and turned the key. Thank you.”

Bass player Mige also had this to say “At the end of 2017 we will be released into the wild. Before this event of great transformation we would love to offer you one last chance to experience our live performances in His Majesty’s service. It shall not be a weepfest but a celebration of love metal in all its lovecraftian glory! See you there!”

As a lifelong fan of HIM, this is a huge shame and very sad news for me personally but after a career that has spanned as many decades as this one, it is an understandable decision and I lovingly wish the band tremendous luck in all their endeavours going forward. You can bet your ass I’ll be at the shows in December too…
